Yacht marble restoration in Italy, from the Riviera to the Gulf of Naples
Yacht marble restoration in Italy has a particular resonance. The country builds a large share of the world’s superyachts, and Viareggio’s shipbuilding history began, almost two centuries ago, with vessels carrying marble from the quarries of the Apuan Alps. Many of the stone interiors we look after were designed and fitted in Italian yards.
Our team travels to your yacht in five Italian ports, from the Ligurian Riviera to Sardinia and Naples.
Three coasts, three rhythms
Liguria and Tuscany are the industrial side of Italian yachting. Genoa hosts the Salone Nautico every autumn (the 66th edition ran from 1 to 6 October 2026) and has repair and refit capacity alongside its marinas. Viareggio is home to builders such as Benetti and to a dense network of yards and specialised trades around its darsena. Here, yachts come for new builds, warranty work, refits and winter lay-up.
Sardinia, and the Costa Smeralda in particular, is a high-summer destination. Porto Cervo concentrates large yachts in July and August, with guests on board and very little time for anything but discreet, quick interventions.
Campania is the gateway to Capri, the Amalfi Coast and the islands of the gulf. Naples sees yachts embarking guests and passing through during the summer, and stopping on their way south or towards the Ionian.
For marble, this means two very different types of request: planned, heavier work in the yards of Liguria and Tuscany during autumn and winter, and short, targeted visits in Sardinia and Naples during the season.

In Italy, interventions are carried out today by the travelling team of Les Traitements du Sud, the stone-care company that looks after yachts on the Côte d’Azur, under the EU freedom to provide services. We have no Italian office: the team travels to your yacht in each port.
In the Ligurian and Tuscan yards, we often work alongside other contractors during a refit. We agree access, protection of joinery and floors, and the order of works with the yard and the project manager, so that polishing or crystallisation comes at the right moment, after the dusty trades and before the final clean.
In Sardinia and Naples, most requests come during the season: an etch mark on a vanity, limescale in a shower, a chipped step. The team boards alongside or reaches the yacht at anchor when access allows, works quietly, and leaves the surface checked with the chief stew. For yachts that spend the season between these ports, a maintenance contract avoids starting from scratch each time.
Italy: frequent questions
Can you work in a Viareggio or Genoa yard during a refit?
Yes, provided the yard agrees. We coordinate with the project manager on access, timing and protection, as any subcontractor on board would.
Is a visit possible in Porto Cervo in August?
Yes, for targeted work planned around the guests. Heavy work is better kept for the yard period, but stains and etch marks can usually be treated in a short visit.
Do you speak Italian on board?
We work in English with international crews. Italian pages are available for owners, managers and yards who prefer it.
