Yacht marble restoration Palma: stone care in a refit harbour
Yacht marble restoration in Palma follows the rhythm of a harbour that never really empties. In winter the city fills with yachts on refit and lay-up; from late April the same boats are pushed through commissioning before the boat show and the first owner trips. Marble on board takes the strain of both periods: dust and boots while contractors are aboard, then salt, sun cream, citrus and cleaning products once guests arrive.
Our team travels to your yacht in Palma, whether she is alongside on the Paseo Marítimo, hauled out in the refit zone or lying off the cathedral. We polish, repair and protect marble, onyx and other natural stone in place, with a small crew and a schedule built around yours. Today every intervention is carried out by the travelling team of Les Traitements du Sud, the stone-care company that looks after yachts on the Côte d’Azur.
Where we work in Palma
Palma is unusual in that its superyacht marinas, its refit yards and the old town line a single stretch of waterfront. For a stone-care team that is a real advantage: moving from a berth to a shipyard, or from one yacht to the next, takes minutes rather than a day on the road.

- Marina Port de Mallorca
- Real Club Náutico de Palma
Club de Mar
At the western end of the harbour, beside the cruise terminal, Club de Mar has recently come out of a major redevelopment of its basin and clubhouse. It has more than five hundred berths, room for around seventy yachts over forty metres, and a few berths reserved for yachts of 136 to 170 metres. Those large berths make it a natural base for big motor yachts between trips. Access runs through the marina’s own security, so we arrange quay passes through the captain or the yacht’s agent before we arrive.
Marina Port de Mallorca and Pantalán del Mediterráneo
Further along the Paseo Marítimo, Marina Port de Mallorca offers around two hundred berths for yachts up to fifty metres. The Pantalán del Mediterráneo pontoon, just to the south, is laid out for much larger yachts. On a yacht of this size, the stone is often limited to a few bathrooms and a saloon table, a scope that suits a short visit between trips.
Real Club Náutico de Palma and Moll Vell
Closer to the cathedral, the Real Club Náutico de Palma, founded in 1948, is the home of the Copa del Rey regatta at the turn of July and August, and the large sailing yachts of the Superyacht Cup berth there each June. Next to it, Moll Vell is the historic quay where the Palma International Boat Show is staged every spring. Sailing yachts carry less stone than motor yachts, but what they have (heads, a saloon table, a galley top) is often thin and light, and rewards careful, low-pressure work.
STP Shipyard Palma and the refit zone
STP Shipyard Palma is why so many yachts spend the winter here. The yard works on an open model: it handles lifting, hard-standing and security, and the yacht chooses its own independent contractors. Its 1,000-tonne travelift can haul large sailing yachts without removing their stays, and the recent expansion has taken the site to around 162,000 square metres, with new berths for yachts up to 110 metres. For us, the open model means a captain or project manager can bring us in directly, alongside the painters, joiners and engineers already on board. The neighbouring Marina Palma Cuarentena works largely as a technical marina for yachts waiting to go into the yard or just coming out of it.
Astilleros de Mallorca
On the Contramuelle, Astilleros de Mallorca has worked only on yacht refit and repair since its last new build in 1995. A yacht in its care is often in the middle of a long interior programme, which is the ideal moment to restore stone in cabins and bathrooms without disturbing anyone.
At anchor in the bay
Anchoring is not permitted inside the commercial harbour, but yachts regularly lie just outside it, in front of the cathedral. Across the wider bay, the Balearic decree protecting Posidonia seagrass, in force since 2018, closes several familiar anchorages, so we always ask for the exact position before planning tender transfers. If the sea state lets us work safely, we work at anchor; if not, we pick up the job at the next berth day. We come to your yacht, wherever she is.
Marble services for yachts in Palma
Requests in Palma tend to fall into two families. Yachts on refit want a full restoration of tired stone before the season; yachts already in commission need fast, quiet repairs between owner visits or charters.

Planned visitsMaintenance contracts
Visits aligned with your refit, commissioning and mid-season calendar.Read moreAfter a long winter alongside, limescale on shower walls and vanity tops is a frequent sight, and the acidic descalers used to fight it leave dull etch marks on polished marble. We remove both and leave the surface protected, so the problem does not return halfway through July. Where a yacht has onyx, travertine, granite or quartzite rather than marble, the same care applies with adapted abrasives and products.
Planning around the Palma calendar

Winter, spring, summer: three different windows
November to March. The refit and lay-up months. STP and the Contramuelle yards are busy, and waiting lists for winter slots typically form many months ahead. This is the most comfortable time for large stone programmes: floors, full bathrooms, stairs. Please tell us your yard dates early so our work slots in after the dusty trades and before final cleaning.
April. Commissioning, and the Palma International Boat Show on Moll Vell (29 April to 2 May in 2026). Yachts on display or for sale need flawless interiors at short notice, so polishing and etch removal are the typical requests.
June to September. The Superyacht Cup in June and the Copa del Rey in late July bring regatta fleets to the Real Club Náutico, while motor yachts come and go from Club de Mar. Work is then planned between trips, often a day or two at the berth while the owner is ashore.
Stone surfaces we restore on board
Each surface has its own constraints aboard: weight, access, movement of the hull and the products used daily by the interior crew.
- Marble bathrooms: vanities, shower walls and floors, the first to suffer from limescale and descaling products.
- Marble floors: saloon and lobby floors scratched by grit carried in from the quay or the yard.
- Bar tops and tables: etch rings from wine, cocktails and citrus on deck and in the saloon.
- Marble stairs: worn treads and chipped nosings on the main staircase.
Removable pieces such as a table top or a vanity can also be treated in a workshop close to the yacht when the work cannot be done on board, then returned and refitted.
How a Palma job runs
- 01
Photos on WhatsApp
Send a few pictures of the stone and tell us where the yacht lies: Club de Mar, the Paseo Marítimo, STP, the Contramuelle or at anchor.
- 02
Survey and quote
When needed, we look at the stone on board, then send a written quote with the method and the time required.
- 03
Access and dates
We agree dates with the captain or project manager and arrange passes for the marina or yard gate. An NDA can be signed beforehand on request.
- 04
Protection and work
Joinery, carpets and adjacent finishes are covered, dust is extracted at the source and the team works quietly in the agreed areas.
- 05
Handover
We check the result with the chief stew or interior team and leave simple care advice for the season ahead.
For more detail on our working method, see how we work on board.
Palma questions from captains and crew
Can you work on our yacht while she is hauled out at STP?
Yes. STP lets yachts appoint their own contractors, so we can be brought in by the captain or the refit manager. We coordinate with the yard on access and with the other trades on timing, ideally after sanding and painting inside are finished.
We are at Club de Mar. How do you get through security?
We send the names of the team and the dates in advance so that the captain or the yacht’s agent can request passes from the marina. The team arrives with only the equipment needed for the job.
Can you come out to us at anchor off the cathedral?
Yes, if a tender can bring the team and equipment aboard safely and the swell allows precise work. Polishing needs a stable surface, so in a southerly swell we may suggest waiting for a berth day.
Is there time to restore marble before the Palma boat show?
Usually, provided we hear from you early in April. Polishing and etch removal on a few surfaces is a short job; full floors need more notice.
Our showers are covered in limescale after the winter. What should the crew use?
Avoid acidic descalers on polished marble: they etch the surface. Wipe the stone dry after use and use a neutral cleaner. If deposits are already thick, we remove them mechanically and then impregnate the stone.
Do you have an office in Palma?
No. Our team travels to your yacht in Palma for each job. There is no local office or address at this stage, and all work is done on board or in a workshop near the yacht.
Works in Palma de Mallorca are carried out by Les Traitements du Sud (France), travelling team.
Marble on board in Palma that needs attention?
Send us a few photos and the yacht’s position in the harbour. We will reply with a first assessment.
