Yacht marble restoration in Greece, from the Athens Riviera
Yacht marble restoration in Greece starts where most Greek charters start: on the coast south of Athens. The marinas of the Athens Riviera and Piraeus are the embarkation point for the Saronic Gulf, the Cyclades and beyond, and a large Greek charter fleet is based there.
Our team travels to your yacht in Athens, at Flisvos, Alimos or Zea, and reaches her in the yards around Piraeus when she is out of the water.
The Greek yachting season
Greek charters generally run from May to the end of October, across a country of almost two thousand islands, from the Ionian in the west to the Cyclades and the Dodecanese in the Aegean. The season opens with the charter shows: the East Med Yacht Show has been held at Marina Zea in Piraeus in May, when brokers visit the yachts before the summer.
In July and August the meltemi, the northerly summer wind of the Aegean, shapes itineraries in the Cyclades: yachts look for shelter, stay longer at anchor or change course. Salt spray, sand and sunscreen come on board with the guests. For marble, that means deck tables and bathrooms that need regular attention, and etch marks that appear quickly when acidic drinks and cleaning products meet polished stone.
In winter many yachts stay in Greece, berthed in the Athens area or ashore in the yards around Piraeus and Perama. This is the time for heavier work before the next season.
Our port in Greece
Yachts cruising the islands can be met in Athens before or after a charter, or at the stop where the captain has the most time. If your yacht is based elsewhere in Greece, send us her location and we will see what is possible.
How our travelling team works in Greece
Work in Greece is carried out today by the travelling team of Les Traitements du Sud, the stone-care company that looks after yachts on the Côte d’Azur, under the EU freedom to provide services. We have no Greek office; the team travels to your yacht and works in English with the crew.
In the Athens marinas, we board alongside between two charters or during the preparation weeks of April and May. In winter, when a yacht is ashore near Piraeus, the interior is free for longer work: a full polish of floors, repair of chipped steps or vanity edges, then protection before the first guests. When the yacht cannot come in, we reach her at anchor in the Saronic Gulf if tender access allows, and removable pieces can be taken to a workshop near the yacht.
Greece: frequent questions
Which Athens marina do you go to?
Whichever one your yacht is in: Flisvos, Alimos and Zea are the most common. We arrange access with the crew and the marina before the visit.
Can you work on a yacht on the hard near Piraeus?
Yes, with the yard’s agreement. Winter on the hard is often the best moment for heavier work on floors and stairs.
Do you serve the islands?
Our Greek port is Athens. For a yacht in the islands, we usually plan the visit when she returns to Athens, or at a stop agreed with the captain.
What can the crew do about an etch mark while cruising the islands?
Rinse the area with fresh water, dry it, and avoid any acidic or abrasive cleaner, which would widen the mark. Take a photo in raking light and send it to us on WhatsApp: we tell you whether it can wait until Athens and protect the stone in the meantime.

Send a few photos on WhatsApp: we reply with a first assessment and propose a slot that fits the crew’s schedule.
